In case you were wondering what this beautiful square is, it is two pictures of the quilt square that Betty Owens, Ruth Grogan and Judy Monoskey made for the Newmar Quilt to be presented at International this year. More on this to come.

Where is everybody?  Well I guess since no one has sent in any tidbits I’ll just have to make some up.  If I’m inaccurate about anything, just feel free to email me and tell me.  I might even make a correction.

Well I guess we should start with the first question. Where is everybody.  If you are somewhere other than where you normally are, drop us a line and let us know where you are.

In the meantime we know (or think we know) that Sara and Dale are in Florida somewhere on the Bay Side. So are John and Phyllis who are having their coach remodeled in time for the Spring Rally.  Hopefully, they’ll be done soon and have a chance to stop by and show off the handiwork to Sara and Dale.

Doxie and Barbara, and Paul and Wendy (guests at our September rally) are all over at Ft. Wilderness at Walt Disney World, in Orlando, enjoying the month of January. As soon as he gets home and has a chance to relax he’s promised some updates about the Spring Rally in Crossville.

Bob and Terry visited for a few days over at Ft Wilderness during the recent cold snap, but there’s probably nothing more boring than Disney in 29 degree weather.   So they left and are now down in the Keys for a while.

Ann and “O” are frozen in at Tom Sawyer RV Park across the river from Memphis.  While they were freezing their ears off their granddaughter Grace-Ann turned 1 year old.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRACE ANN.

Lynn and Wayne are out in Phoenix (the one warm bet this year) where they are celebrating Waynes 65th Birthday (and he still doesn’t act a day over 13).

Special thanks to all those who are working on rallies this year.  AND also thanks to:

Doxie and Barbara for the Spring Rally at Crossville

Joe and Kathy McConnell for the Summer Rally, wherever it may be.

Ann and Big “O” for the last few years of leadership and great food.

Tony and Ruth for stepping up to lead us.

Sara and Dale Brown for EVERYTHING they do for us.  What would we do without them?

Bonus Bonus Bonus!!!

As agreed to at the last meeting, all members who are paid in full for the 2009 year will have their 2010 chapter dues paid by the chapter.  This means if you paid dues in 2009 (were current) you will now be current until January 1, 2011.  The dues page will reflect this shortly so make sure your 2009 dues are current.

Last years "No Host Rally" in Crossville update:

This year coaches started arriving on Sunday October 25,  for a few extra days at the beautiful Spring Lake Campground and sightseeing in the Crossville area. As more coaches showed up each day, the camaraderie grew until nearly everyone had arrived by Thursday when the rally was officially started.

Of course, all that couldn't hold a candle to "Big O's" breakfast tradition, the morning that the rally starts.  There is always some surprise, and this time was no exception.  In addition to the usual eggs, biscuits, country ham, city ham and potatoes, the Canadian Contingency brought an extra special treat.  Canadian PeaMeal Bacon.  Sous Chef Wayne Freeland provided his special touch to provide a treat that was perfectly grilled and truly enjoyed by all.

Dinner Thursday evening was a "walking taco" dinner, planned by State Directors Sara and Dale Brown. All the taco parts are provided and placed into a Chinese food take out container. Then everyone can walk around and socialize as they have dinner.  This was a great hit, although Sara and Dale were slightly delayed after the Regional Rally and had to miss dinner.  And of course, dessert. But never fear, our members didn't allow anything to go to waste.

After a free day to socialize, visit the various parks, or play golf everyone met in the clubhouse around 6:00 pm for Chef Boy R Doxie's famous spaghetti dinner. What a treat!  There was barely any of the sauce left, and Doxie started out with about 10 gallons of sauce. It took one whole day of preparation back in Memphis, and a second day here at the campground to complete the meal . . . but was it worth it!After dinner everyone gathered around for some card games and Mexican Train, and Jigsaw puzzles. This has become a tradition at our "NO-Host Rally.

Saturday October 31, 2009,

After an early morning breakfast and tech session which lasted past lunch, it was time for some demonstrations of gadgets like Silver Leaf's engine monitoring software, and full sized bathtubs by Co-Leader Doxie Frasier.  In addition, a thorough discussion of motor home electrical systems and battery care and feeding were accompanied by thorough diagrams, provided by Co-Leader Earl McClelland . Those not interested in tech stuff gathered in the clubhouse for more games and puzzles while Big O started cooking his soup for dinner this evening.

5:30 and while the smell of good things cooking lured everyone into the clubhouse, Big O brought the meeting to order. One way to be certain everyone was present, was the promise of dinner after the meeting. It even got Bob Monoskey out of his sick bed. After the meeting and elections, we all had dinner and then our "Secret Santa Gift Exchange".  Then there was another round of games before everyone retired for the night

Sunday November 1, 2009

After a little confusion regarding the time (and when Daylight Savings ends) everyone finally woke up and goodbyes were said all around before everyone got on their way.  See you all at the next rally!!!
